From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers tables.
